Pigment Ink on Cotton Rag
I was born on Acton peninsula on Lake Burley Griffin, in the (now demolished) Royal Canberra Hospital in 1970. The lake, which is central to life in Canberra in many respects, holds some of my earliest childhood memories. Having moved from Canberra in 2001 to live and work in Sydney, I have noticed a deepening of my relationship to Canberra - the wilderness around the lake in particular. Since 2013 I have been returning to Canberra regularly, through my study at the ANU, and have taken time to document the lake and surrounds from a new perspective - as a tourist in my own hometown.
